McIntosh MA-6100 integrated amplifier - The integrated amp was sent for inspection and repair. Failed parts were identified and replaced. Additional circuits were installed to allow bias adjustment. A new faceglass was purchased from the OEM and installed. When I arrived to pick up the amplifier, I was stunned at how well the unit had been cleaned and presented. The amp sounds wonderful and I am very pleased.

I have had several units repaired by Bill. What I find appealing is his thorough inspection and testing of the units. His communication is excellent. He always calls to tell what he has found and offers options for how to address the issues. The customer is always in control and has the final say.

Sansui BA-3000 amplifier - I received my Sansui BA-3000 about 15 years ago in a trade. It had a rough history but still played well. While listening at a moderate level the right channel blew and took all 4 drivers in my Infinity Monitor 2a's with it. My go to electronics repair guys would not touch this unit. After a desperate search I found Cherish44. Upon reading testimonials from other Cherish44 customers I decided to take my Sansui to them for repair. Not only did the Sansui get repaired, it was restored to better than new output. I have been listening to it for several weeks now and I am still amazed at the incredible sound stage. It has never sounded this good! I find myself searching my music collection for songs I want to hear again. I hear clarity in the instruments and voices I have not heard before. I am extremely satisfied with the quality of workmanship and the resulting sound. I have asked them to do the same thing with my Accuphase P-300 stereo amplifier. Sansui BA-2000 amplifiers (two units) - I asked Bill to service two BA-2000 amplifiers for me, both of which were operating poorly on only one channel. I looked all over the Internet to find someone capable of doing the work on these units properly, only to find Bill located about a mile from my home.

The work he did was exceptional. Bill carefully surveyed each unit and reported to me on their condition, providing pictures of what he found. He did great work on both units and they are absolutely superior units today thanks to his excellent work. At each step of the repair process he kept me updated as to the status of the work and we discussed decisions that had to be made regarding the repairs together. It took some time to get the work done, but Bill was up front about that and his estimates of time were reasonably accurate. In the end, the result was worth it and I have asked him to repair several more units.

Pioneer SX-850 Receiver - I want to thank Bill Ersoy again for all the time he invested in me and my SX-850. In the beginning of this project, I had concerns about sending my SX-850 across several states instead of using a local shop. Marantz 2270 Receiver - I am very happy with the results of Bill's work. He fixed all of my issues and upgraded some components. My Marantz 2270 looks beautiful and sounds beautiful, as well.

Marantz 2130 Scope Tuner - Very professional and excellent service; I am impressed. The service cost was less than expected.

Excellent diagnosis of the problems with my tuner. The repairs and restoration resulted in a better than new tuner at about 1/2 the cost of local shops. I am sure that Bill at Cherish44 gave me a better tuner than the local shops where I would pay about twice as much.

Mitsubishi DA C-20 - "Concerning my Mitsubishi DA-C20 Pre-Amp Tuner which Bill has recently returned to me. Being a 30 year old unit it was out of calibration in the tuner section and needed work in the pre-amp. Bill has once again satisfied me by overhauling and restoring a classic piece of Hi-Fi to probably better than original. It is clean and crisp with superb sensitivity and separation and I could not be more pleased. I know that once Bill has worked on one of my units I need never worry about it anymore.

I have dropped off another C20 for similar work and this weekend I will hand over one of my Mitsubishi DA-A15DC Dual Monobloc 150w/ch RMS amps for complete refurbishment. I am really looking forward to hearing the results.

Pioneer SX-850 - I had the opportunity to hear Bill's modified Pioneer SX-850 while delivering my tube McIntosh units MC240, C11, MR71 for service. Bill is enthusiastic about the performance of his modified Pioneer for a very good reason.  It sounds awesome!

It competes on equal footing with gear costing many times more. My main system is a McIntosh MC 275, C-22 60th Anniversary preamp and an MR 71 tuner. The Pioneer sounded great and compared favorably. Detailed, crisp, and musical.  Great tuner too!  All in a lot smaller and far less costly package than my MC components.  If I wanted to condense my system size and do it on a budget of $1500 or less the modified Pioneer would be tops on the list. - S.K., MI, Nov, 2018

Marantz 510 M - I am a dilettante collector of Marantz and McIntosh equipment from before the true digital evolution in equipment. I had acquired the mentioned amplifier, knowing it needed some work. Perusing forums, I ran across Cherish 44, and contacted them (Bill Ersoy). After sending my amp to him, the real story began. The amp was damaged in transit. Bill contacted me, and (short story) worked through the documentation and assessment of the extent of the new damage and the pre-existing condition of the amplifier. It was extensive. I did not think that the amp was worth salvaging. Bill, however, felt it could be worked on, and prevailed.

I am glad he did. Over the next year he patiently disassembled the elements of the amp. At each critical step he contacted me, sent photographs, explained my options for continuing with the repair, listened to my questions and concerns, and proceeded with our mutually agreed-upon plan. The rebuild was comprehensive. In addition to re-capping, all 64 transistors needed to be replaced. The before-and-after pictures document a change from a dingy, non-operable affair, to an essentially re-issued component.

The visual appearance and sonic performance of the repaired amplifier are stunning. My experience with Mr. Ersoy and Cherish 44 is only positive. He is a professional, who is interested in explaining critical information without economic bias, and his goal was the same as mine - restoring the amplifier to its full potential.

Marantz 2225, Marantz 2215B, Fisher FM-100B, Marantz 1152DC - I am a returning customer of Cherish44. I had a Marantz 2225 which I had been using for about two months before I brought it to Cherish44. When I got it back it sounded so good. Particularly the FM reception after the alignment at Cherish44 was better than the factory alignment.

Then I brought my Marantz 2215B in to have it inspected and aligned. After the service and tuner alignment it was picking up many FM stations with only a simple dipole antenna.

Next was my Fisher FM-100B tube tuner. I brought it to Cherish44 for a rebuild. Well, when it came back I could hear the rich sound of a tube tuner; what's more, it pulled in a huge number of stations with great clarity.

What was next was my Marantz 1152DC which I had for about a year. Sometimes it would drop out a channel or would cut out completely while turning hot, real hot just like a tube amplifier despite being a solid-state device. The 1152DC, too was rebuilt by Cherish44 and it is now about three weeks that it is back home. It does not overheat and it sounds so good. The sound-stage is unbelievable; I can hear vocals, music instruments, and background sound with exceptional clarity and sweetness. The 1152DC is now paired up with my McIntosh MR 77 tuner.

Sansui 9090DB -  I have been a 40 year consumer of Vintage Stereo Equipment including Pioneer 828, Sansui BA-5000 amp, Sansui CA-3000 pre-amp, Sansui 9090DB, Sansui 9090 (non-DB), JBL Century 100’s, Klipsch, BIC Venturi Formula 4s and 6s, JBL 4311s, JBL 4312s, plus vintage McIntosh components.

I have used Vintage Audio Repair “Specialists” in Southern California and Long Island, NY. None of these repair operators ever really fixed the units that needed work. They all came back with some unresolved issues.

Marantz Model 150 Tuner - I sent Bill my Marantz 150 for service. After reviewing the unit, Bill contacted me to discuss what he had found and to put together a plan for refurbishing the unit. Bill also took the time to explain to me the type of antenna that would work best with the unit.  After receiving the unit back and purchasing the suggested antenna the sound and stereo separation is nothing short of amazing. I have Sirrus XM satellite in the house and the stereo separation of the 150 is better than the satellite. Bill now has my Marantz 250 and will be getting my Marantz 3300 for service. What I think is unique about Bill is the communication, customer service, and time he will take to discuss and explain the plan he has for your unit. Sansui 5000X Receiver - Bill Ersoy of Cherish44 repaired our Sansui 5000X receiver. While the repair of the Sansui was quite efficient, the process from start to finish was lengthy due to the demand for Cherish44’s work. This latter consideration speaks to the confidence to do quality work that Cherish44’s clients have in the business. In the end, the result is worth the wait.

Once underway, the work proceeded smoothly with good communication from Bill. General cleaning, various alignments and several parts replaced summarize the undertaking. Following were various tests of the unit to be certain that the Sansui was operating at its peak. Bill was meticulous in his approach and implementation, even considering the type of speakers and speaker wire to be used with the Sansui.

...I am a customer of Cherish44, I like music, and I am the owner of a pair of well-known Klipsch P39F loudspeakers. I am a collector of high end vintage audio equipment and I got interested in the Sansui AU X1 amplifier. It’s a hard to find amplifier and one of Sansui’s best. Finally I was fortunate to acquire one.

After a while, my AU X1 stopped working. I took it to a local repair service provider and asked for help. The unit was inspected and I was informed that they were not willing to service it due to the complexity of the unit, amount of damage, and lack of test equipment. Having received this let down, I started a search on the internet for another service provider.

I found out that the unit was one of the most difficult amplifiers to service. Finally I was able to locate a service provider in Long Island, NY which gave me hope, as they were known for their competency in servicing vintage units manufactured by Sansui. With that, I shipped my unit to Long Island, NY. Around 3 months later upon my follow up, I learned that no progress was made in servicing my unit. They asked for additional time, which I gave. Three more months passed and not having heard back, I contacted them once again. This time I was informed that the damage in my unit was beyond repair. They suggested taking apart the unit and selling it for parts on the aftermarket. I was not willing to accept this and asked them to wait until further notice.

Once again I started to search for another service provider. This is when I found Cherish44. I contacted them and talked to their manager Bill Ersoy. He was welcoming and invited me to send in my AU X1 for an initial inspection. A week later, my amplifier arrived at their facility. A short while later they informed me of what the problems with the unit were. They also informed me that a restoration of the unit was possible. I gave them the green light and my Sansui AU X1 was added to their wait list. In about 4 months, they started the restoration. The restoration took 3 months and my unit was shipped back to me in May 2013, complete with a service and performance report, and all disassembled and replaced parts.

I was impressed to find out that my unit was now not only fully compliant with the manufacturer’s original specs but was capable of delivering a wonderful soundcolor as well. Since then, I have been using the amplifier… As far as I know, Cherish44 is one of the few service providers for the Sansui AU X1 in the world. Their customer communication is also top-notch.
