Replacement Parts and Our Replacement Parts Policy
Vintage equipment cannot be serviced successfully, if necessary replacement parts are not available. On the other hand the replacement parts sector contains a wide variety of counterfeit or out-of-date parts which look very much like genuine or new parts, but when tested do not meet the specifications of OEMs.
Our expertise in Quality Management combined with our particular knowledge in electronics and incoming inspection of parts gives us a distinct advantage in this field.
In order to ensure that most appropriate parts are used when servicing a unit, Cherish44 puts heavy emphasis on incoming inspection and works only with a limited number of suppliers, which are authorized distributors of OEMs. Exceptions:
- Some vintage parts may be difficult to find. We contact the owner of a unit for consent if we should be forced to buy critical parts from sellers, which are not authorized distributors or sellers of the manufacturer.
- This rule is also applicable to tubes as many tube manufacturers of the past do not manufacture tubes anymore. This said though, Cherish44 still works with a very limited number of highly qualified tube suppliers only to purchase the very best when it comes to tubes
- We do not recycle parts internally. In other words we do not use used or disassembled parts as long as new exact replacement parts or technically acceptable new substitutes are available. We contact the owner of a unit if we should be forced to use used or disassembled parts because new exact replacement parts or technically acceptable new substitutes are not available.
